Hey Guys

Ive installed VB primary to use my Dymo Label Writer on my Ubuntu Laptop. This works fine.

A few days ago i installed my old x-com games (terror from the deep and enemy unknown) and also x-force which i didnt know so far.

Problem now is that after gaming a few minutes the system slows down and freezes sometimes. The cursor cant be moved then (even when it slows down).

The games runs to fast, in 5s mode a minute is less then a second. When it slows down time isnt running that fast.

Does someone know this problem?

Here are the specs:

Laptop: Dell XPS M1330 (2x2ghz), 2gb ram
Ubuntu 9.04

VB: Windows XP, 512mb ram, 64mb grafic

Installed yesterday also Maniac Mansion Deluxe. Same thing happend there, it took just a little bit longer.

So i guess its just with games, because the dymo printing prog runs as it should do.

Ah games in a virtual environment. I don't use them but from what I have read here and on other forums they are problematic at best. One thing to remember is your system RAM that you have devoted to the VM. You may find it works better and longer if you can give it a little more. But with that said it will never play like it would in a native environment IMHO.

These old games dont need many ressources, so it shouldn't be a problem (these are really old DOS games!)

I think there should be a way to play them.

When the system freezes the disk button on the VM is always read.

Does anyone has an idea?
