Windows 98 SE - missing driver files

Hello!
VirtualBox is the solution for getting Windows 98 SE to run - thank you to the developers!

However, I have a bit of a problem. I cannot install my USB, sound, video, or ethernet drivers. I have installed the guest additions and it does recognize the .INF files; however, it begs for the Windows 98 SE CD when it starts copying driver files and yells at me for many missing .DLL files.

If anyone could help me get started fixing this problem, it would be much appreciated :)

I have followed this guide. It recognizes the Sound Blaster 16 device and finds the .INF file in the guest additions. However, once it actually begins copying files, neither the Windows 98 SE disc nor the guest additions folder have the .dll files, and if they do, I can't seem to find them.

the only thing i can think of it is a file listed here C:windows\system\i386 or C:windows\i386 maybe the harddrive is detected as the z: drive or the cd rom is.open up my computer and see if anything in there is listed as Z:.

Glun11: looks to me as if you need to repair a 'broken' installation of Win98SE. To give that a chance you need at least the same setup as used during install (by the way there are NO Win98SE VirtualBox Guest Additions).

Well, I found an alternative virtual machine that does the job I need. Thank you for trying to fix me up :)
