start Windows on second virtual desktop and then Pause VM

Hello,

i just switched to Linux privately. Unfortunately i have to use Windows for some apps for work.
Let me describe what is my dream:

Start Linux
1) Windows is starting in in a VM in fullscreen in the Background on the second virtual desktop
until here i was successful.

2) When the VM (Windows) started it should go itself in the "Pause"-Mode for minimal processor consumption
3) I would like to switch to the second desktop with simple standard hotkeys, ending pause and then having Windows as usual
4) Pause Windows with Hotkey and switch back to Linux with Hotkeys - everything in fullscreen

Is anyone could help me i would be very glad

You can all do this, if you bothered to read the menu items and shortcuts. Host+F makes the VM go to full screen or go out of it. Hitting Host+P pauses the VM. Just the Host key will release the keyboard (though that also happens when you pause the VM) and you can use ctrl+alt+left/right to switch viewport.

Thx for your post. I really read the manual and know the Hotkeys. But i would like that the VM goes in Pause-Mode itself automatically. I don't want to do it every startup on my own.
Is there a posibility to Pause a machine through a script.
For example, after a timeout of 3 minutes, so the Windows has started, send the VM the Pause signal

Yes, that is possible. You have to figure out how to send keystrokes to programs. I don't know how to do that myself, but I'm sure google will help you with that. There are tons of sites with scripting help, in all sorts of languages available on Linux.
