I have been trying for a week now to get my radio shack serial to usb cable to work on virtual box 2.2.2 with no luck.
My host os is Windows Vista Business and my guest os is Windows XP Pro. Can somebody out there help me
pleeeeeeeeeese?

And what did you try yourself? Is it Serial to USB, or USB to serial? If it's the latter, you don't have the correct VB version. Only the PUEL version supports USB. See the VirtualBox FAQ. It's also on the Editions Page, accessible through the download page.
