Problems with Shared Folders and Guest Additions

Hello,
when I upgraded to Virtual Box v2.2 I encountered problems with a program (MP3Tag) giving a write error on a write access to a Shared Folder. This error only occurs if it wants to write a new file and the file is rather big (around 100MB). I never had problems with smaller files (around 5MB). And altering the file in it's place (e.g. replace existing ID3 tags) also works with no problem.
By accident I found out that this seems to be related to the Guest Additions. When using Virtual Box v2.2.2 along with the Guest Additions of v2.1.4 the problem described above does not occur.
Now I have two questions:
1) Do you consider using VB v2.2.2 along with older Gust Additions as problematic?
2) Any idea how I could report/narrow down this problem?
I am using Windows XP SP3 as the Guest and Mac OS 10.5.6 as the Host.
