Hi,
I have a laptop that has Vista / Slackware Linux 12.1 installed.
So wheN I stat the laptop I can choose Linux or Windows in the lilo boot menu and it all works good.

/dev/sda1 = Vista
/dev/sda2 = Linux ext3
/dev/sda3 = Linux swap

When I run:
cd "\Program Files\Sun\xVM VirtualBox"
VBoxManage.exe internalcommands listpartitions -rawdisk \\.\PhysicalDrive0

Then I see:
Number Type StartCHS EndCHS Size (MiB) Start (Sect)
1 0x07 0 /1 /1 1023/254/63 80003 63
2 0x83 1023/254/63 1023/254/63 70998 163846935
3 0x82 1023/254/63 1023/254/63 1623 309251250

So I run:
cd "\Program Files\Sun\xVM VirtualBox"
VBoxManage.exe internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename "c:\linux-raw2.vmdk" -rawdisk \\.\PhysicalDrive0 -partitions 2,3
and then I load the linux-raw2.vmdk in virtualbox and it starts up.
I see the Lilo boot menu and I select linux.

Then it says:
VFS cannot open root device 802 unknown block 8,2
please select
root=
0300 hda
0301 81923436 hda1
0302 72702157 hda2
0303 1662727 hda3

so it seems like it is trying hda.

Then I go in virtualbox and harddisk settings.
Enable Additional Controller
SATA
and set from IDE Primary Master to :
SATA Port 0
then it boots and now says sda: <3>ata1.00 exception Emask

then it keeps saying:

ata1.00 status drdy
ata1 soft resetting link
ata1: sata link
ata1 eh complete
ata1.00 exception emask 0x0 SAct 0x1 SErr 0x0 action 0x2 frozen

and nothing more happens.
can someone please help
