Hi everyone,

Is there a way to configure VB to control display power when VM is in fullscreen?

Currently, if I do

Code: Select all

xset dpms force off
on the host, it turns display off. If I do the same command on my Linux guest while in fullscreen mode, I only have a blank screen. Linux guest reports having DPMS enabled when doing

Code: Select all

xset q

I doubt that.

Workaround:

Code: Select all

ssh "host" xset dpms force off

The aim is not to do it manually but to use guest OS power management capabilities (things like screen saver then turning display off).

No can do. The Guest can't handle power management for the Host. What you need to do, is set power management on the Host, and disable it all on the Guest. With this, the Guest won't do anything, allowing the Host to act accordingly. Else the Host will see it as an event and delay the power management again.
