Ok, first of all I will gove you some usefull info :
Problem: No internet connection on guest OS

VirtualBox 2.2.2 r46594
Guest OS : Windows XP 32-bit
Host OS : Windows XP 64-bit
Running default network card simulation 'PCnet-FAST III (NAT)'
Using latest drivers
Firewalls turned off

I have googled it and searched the forum. I have tried to install drvers, but it told me that I had the latest software.
Any help is appreciated.

With the information I see you should be able to get to the internet. Are you certain that you do not have a firewall issue?
When all things go stupid I usually reinstall the VBox software to make sure that the proper drivers got installed. You can do this by right clicking on the install icon and then left click on run as...admin. When the install program comes up select repair. reboot after the install and then see what happens.

Everything turned off, and even though I have an admin account I installed as admin.
Still no internet.

Why did you set this instead of the default setting?

Let it pick it up from DHCP. Only set it if you can't get DNS to work on the Guest. If DNS doesn't work on the Guest, it's almost certain that the primary DNS on the Host is failing. Change that one, not your Guest.

I got it to work at last!
Here is what we did.

We noted that there where a few packets returning on a request to display a web page. Not zero, but a few. We then suspected a DNS error. In the host OS, we used nslookup to test the DNS, and found to our surprise that the primary DNS did not work. The host OS was running only on the secondary DNS!!! And the VBox installation only provided the primary DNS (????) when configured to obtain DNS server addresses automatically.

So, setting the DNS config to "manual" and the IP of the secondary (working) DNS server, we got it to work!
We didn't change anything from default and was running "obtain ip automatically"
