Virtualbox + Windows XP + XNA Game Studio

Hello,
I'm trying to get XNA Game Studio (with Visual Studio 2008) on Windows XP guest on Virtualbox.
Virtualbox is running on Archlinux i686.
I'm trying to get it working by using WineD3D.
The problem is that when I try to compile and run the simple test application appears an error box that says that my video card doesn't support Pixel Shaders 1.1 and Vertex Shaders 1.1 and that it can't go on.
Someone had experience on this?
Thanks
Marcello

Forget such things.
Direct3D with WINE3D is absolutly experimental.

That's a pity, because it seemed to work with other applications (wined3d). I tried Warcraft 3 for example just to try it and it worked exactly as it did under linux+wine (just a little slower) .
If the application would be able to detect PS and VS 1.1 i'm sure it would work.

Still, does Warcraft use those extensions? I don't think so. Wine3D is experimental, and that means not every extension is implemented. Some games will run, but as I said, not all of them use Pixel Shaders and Vertex Shaders. Check the Wine website to see what is exactly supported by their implementation.

Did you enable 3D and install the GA? And the 3D VB uses, is the implementation done by Wine. So you're still stuck with their support.

Crappy solution. Use Windows native, if you want to develop windows software.

i am trying the same...
Ubuntu 9.04 (64Bit) and Guest XP
For testing i run PC Mark 05. The first Test runs without any problem and has a good performances.
So D3D is running...
VirtualBox 3D activated and GA installed.
XNA Studio runs...
XNA Game runs.... BUT... see Picture
all 2D Textures are Black! Normally each squad has a other color.
My System:
AMD Phenom II X940 (4x 3GHz) | 8GB Ram | Ati HD 3300 (Onboard with 128MB SidePort RAM)
The ATI Driver for Ubuntu (linux) is not the best, so it is possible that with a Nvidia Card the black textures are okay?
