Hi, I'm a newbie here, and I am kinda having fun and pains exploring VirtualBox2.2, I have it installed on my Ubuntu Dapper. My problem is, I've transferred my other WindowsXPprofile thru a shared folder(so that i can easily access/manage the files even in Ubuntu) what my problem is, logging in to that profile really is crawling, it tooks almost 10 minutes just to login and really i dont think i can use it because its almost you have installed windowsXP on a P1 166mhz cpu. and when you try opening something or anything it would really take you a couple of minutes just to open a certain folder or application. Would like to ask anyone on how can you help me make it fast and a working environment. Thank you in advance.

The Shared Folders service isn't fully loaded until you're logged on. And even then, Windows doesn't always have a direct connection to it, you have to force one by accessing the share through Windows Explorer. Best thing you can do, is set up a Samba server on the Host, and serve it trough that. It's a bit faster too. Only downside, it's accessible to the whole network, if you don't limit it. Best to use Host-Only networking for this part, set Samba to limit the shares to that interface, and you're pretty save.
