Direct Shortcuts to Programmes installed in the guest OS?

Post by monkeyonrun »

I'm an average PC user. Installed VirtualBox in Vista Host, Win XP as guest and there one of my work-Software which is incompatible to Vista. I made a short-cut to guest OS in my host OS's desktop after some googling. But things I couldnt find an answer is

1. How can I place a direct short cut in my Host's desktop to my target Programme which is inside the guest OS?
2. I use the guest OS only to run few host incompatible programmes. Is there a way to make it faster? I mean, I don't want the full guest OS, Just need the OS support to 2 or 3 programmes.

Please forgive my ignorance!

1. You can't.
2. Almost impossible.
Some say: "You learn as long as you live".
My way: "You live as long as you learn".

Tack själv.

I thought its possible to invoke a programme in the guest with the vboxmanage scripting.

No, that's not possible. If you searched a little better, on your topic title for example, you would have found other topics with the same question and same answer "it can't be done".

Answer provided, could have been found by searching a little better -> locked.
