USB Headset

I am running Windows XP and have installed Sun Virtual Box 2.2.2r46594 I then installed a Windows XP Virtual Machine (strange I know, I have my reasons).

So its all working fine till I tried to use a USB headset (plantronics CS50/60) I cannot see it within the Virtual Machine, its there in the USB list when I select it I get a message:

Failed to attach USD device Plantronics CS50/CS60-USB Headset [2030] to the virtual machine XP.

USB device 'Plantronics CS50/CS60-USB Headset' with UUID {xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx} is busy with a previous request. Please try again later.

How can I get this to connect and work?

Use a blank filter (.) and then boot the guest. Unplug the USB device and plug it back in to get focus and it should appear in the guest.

I know this an old thread, but my issue is essentially the same. I'm running Windows 8 64bit as the host on a Dell 36520 laptop and using VB (4.3.8 r92456 with same version guest additions) to host a Windows 7 64bit OS. I have no issues connecting USB devices except for my headset. I've tried everything under the sun that I can find from adding/removing filters, updating drivers and on and on and, even though the device shows as Captured, when I try to use it, I get this:

I'm stumped and really need to have this thing working. Audio works just fine as the built-in speakers work as well as the built-in mic but I can't really use those because my laptop is used in a docking station when I need the headset. TIA.
