Hi,

In XP I have VBox & in it Win7.

How to:

1. see XP files in Win7

2. inport XP IE8 Favourites in to Win7 IE8

3. How to attach screenshots here (IE8 in Win7)

Answer to 1. You must use a share to see these. Either a network share or by using the shared folder in VBox. I looked back at you other posts and the biggest problem is you were trying to share the complete hard drive, but VBox needs it to be an absolute share and thus needs it to be a folder.
Answer to 2. Since these are actually on (2) different systems you will need to export them and place then in a share and then import them to the other IE.
Answer to 3. Look at the bottom left of your post screen there in a tab that says Upload attachment.

• 2. How would you get the favorites from one computer to another computer? You would export them to a file from IE on computer (1) and then import the file to IE on computer (2). Click on import/export under the file tab of IE and follow the instructions there.
• 1. You will need to get your guest and host working as far as networking then the rest will work.

Just take your time, read some more tutorials, and do one thing at a time.

just managed Win7 to see my MemStick so transfers are easy now.

Please note on first post that I am in XP within VBox with Win 7 in it. Now while wthin this Win7 I wont to see my HD partitions & or files

No 2 PCs involved.

I understand what you are saying. What you don't get is that even though they are still on the same physical box they are indeed separate computers and you must understand that to be able to deal with them.

that's just what am trying to do, but how on earth can I see from Win7 the HD or its files, singly or enmass?

PS. funy thing is that while in VBox win7 can see my MemStick, but XP cannot???

Ok let's give this a shot.

You have one computer (the host) and it has Windows XP as the operating system.
You have a second computer (the guest) and it has Windows 7 as the operating system.

No comes VirtualBox and it says OK I will be the part that makes these two operating systems (computers) work in the same "BOX".

This also explains why the USB memory stick can only be seen in one unit at a time. They are part of the computer and can only be part of one computer at a time. Look at it like you actually have (2) computers. You have one memory stick and (2) computers. There is no way that you can use this memory stick on (2) computers at the same time.

You are right, BUT only because in my ignorance I had in Win7 the M.Stick opened & viewed.

Later when MStick was closed in W7, by chance I went in XP win.Eexplorer & there it was again, so I put in it this screenshot for test, went in Win7, found it in MStick & there you have it.

BUT now how about teach me how to see my HD/Files in Win7 ....................nick

2: for importing the favorites , u can use Xmarks addon.

First of all you need to set up shared folders. At the top of running Win7VM see devices/shared folders
browse and select the folders you wish to access. Ensure the folder name by which you access it on Win7VM is not in use. Once you have set up the shared folders you need to mount them. Using the command line in Win7VM use the following command
net use x: \\vboxsvr\sharename
where sharename is the folder name and x is the drive as it will appear in Win7VM
