Hi everyone,
i installed a virtual box on a my hp laptop (vista) but when ever i want to start it it says FATAL:No botable medium found ! system halted. so i dont know what next to do this is my detailed info

You have to install an operating system in the VBox software. Download one and burn it to disk. the install it within VBox.
You may want to consider doing some reading to better understand what you are doing to prevent damage to you laptop.

how pls explain in details how do i install a os in the vb software . secoundly i downlaoded the software from sun java website

Did you actually check the VirtualBox FAQ? It describes clearly what you need to know, especially the page it links to (wikipedia).
