2 virtual iis5 and one native reverse squid on one box

i want to run two (or more) virtualized iis5 and a native squid as reverse proxy on one box. squid will receive all the traffic from the outside network and also do the ssl-work and loadbalancing, and the iis5s will communicate with the database on the internal network. communication between squid and iis should be done over virtual interfaces, the iis will each get a dedicated real interface and will have to be able to use netbeui for communication with the db.
does this config make sense with virtualbox on linux? i'm a little worried about performance on the virtual ifs and the netbeui-protocol (which i'm required to use). i plan on using a server with 2 quadcore-xeons and 8gb of ram.
right now we use a very badly scaling webapp (whose db-conection often dies) on one iis5 (can't change that - they bought it), and the new system is supposed to relieve that and also supply ssl and thighter security (all on squid).
does this make sense? what do you think? are there any pitfalls to watch out for?
thx for your input!
