Hi
i have a problem whit my internetconnection from my xp gestsystem. It can ping google.com and other sites but it can not open them in a webrowser. it is connected to the network by a bridged adapter to eth0 i have also a windows webserver that is configured the same way. The webserver can how ever browse to those locations and the host machine to, which is a Ubuntu 9.04.
the xp gestsystem have the right ip dns and gateway and get it from dhcp. the windows firewall is off and the router do not block outgoing connections.
Any one that have a clue.

i have not solved this problem yet and i going to reinstall the guest system but i rader not

We need more details, how is the Guest connected, have you tried setting static IP values, Guest NIC driver, etc...

it is connectet whit a bridged-adapter to eth0 which is connected to a router that has dhcp. i have only tryed the amd network cards becouse xp do not support the intel card. Static ip vill not change any thing it have the right ip from dhcp i have lookt it up.

It is not uncommon to have a problem with using the router as the DNS provider.
- Try to set the DNS in the guest to a known good DNS server like opendns.com.
- Google opendns to see how.
