Hi!
I was a happy user og VB 2.1.4 on SLED11 64bits. I install WinXP Pro as VM and it works greate.
Now everytime i start VB it pops up a message about the new version; 2.2.2
So i downloaded it and installed from the installation-script. (I couldnt use to rpm-package on SLED11).
Now everything got broken. My existing VM didnt start anymore and i couldnt start a new VM.
Then after allot of troublshooting, i desided to uninstall and install the old version again. Now still my existing VM didnt start and it seems the virtual harddrive has been messed up and become corrupt.
I had to delete all VMs and virual harddrives and create new hd and VMs. Now it works again!
So don't upgrade to latest version if you use Novell SLED11
Don't upgrade to VB 2.2.x on Novell SLED11

Did you remove the previous version before you installed the new one? If not, that's probably the issue. If you installed from the .run file, then you need to uninstall it before installing a new version. Kernel modules will be different and that can cause problems.

Re: Don't upgrade to VB 2.2.x on Novell SLED11
Yes i did!
I also uninstalled and reinstalled it again and then tried to create a completly new VM, and it also refuse to start.
Can it be the case that uninstall script didnt manage to uninstall the kernel module on SLED11?
But after uninstall and then i go back to 2.1.4, then i works again. But i had to recreate virt hd's.
This issue can rely only to SLED11.
