I can not install 2.2.2
It says "Could not creat temporary directory"
I have tried the method on this page:
http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... ory#p69516
But it didn't work. It didn't let me install as an administrator.
I have never installed any older VitualBox versions.
My windows XP is in Chinese.
What sould i do?

There is a know bug that prevent 2.2.2 installing if the environment variables TEMP and TMP contain the some UTF codes which have multibyte UTF8 representation (such as Chinese). Create a temporary directory c:\TEMP and set TEMP and TMP to that then try the install.

Not a VBox Q. Open a Command Prompt
This opens up a folder browser. Drag and drop your copy of VirtualBox-2.2.2-46594-Win.exe in this folder.
This will start the MSI installer as a child of the command shell and therefore inherit TEMP and TMP.

After setting TEMP you stay within the cmd prompt and then CD to where the .exe is and type its name.

Sorry, but as vbox4me says, I suspect that the one thing that you didn't try was exactly what I told you to do -- that is to type the
start VirtualBox-2.2.2-46594-Win.exe command in the command window where you had set the TEMP and TMP variables. You need to do this here because a process inherits its environment from its parent. If you run the EXE from explorer then explorer is the parent, not the command process where you've set the variables.
