Okay, i've installed VirtualBox OSE via YaST on my SuSE linux 11.1 spare machine*, and when i click on the icon it acts like it's loading and the icon shows up in the taskbar, but it just vanishes after about a few minutes. what do i do?
*512mb of RAM, Athlon64 3500 O+, Not sure about video card. i would install it on my main machine (4gb RAM, Intel Quad Core Duo, Nvidia GeForce GTX 260), but the power supply sucks too much and we don't really have much money to fix it right now. God, i've blown $1400 (computer+graphics card+"better" PSU+Warranty+external Hard Drive+Antivirus) on this thing and it doesn't even work right.
VirtualBox OSE won't even start

- I hate to be the one to break this to you but you do not have enough memory to run the program.
- Not to mention what the load would be if you tried to create a guest.

Wierd. Back when i was running XP on it the computer handled MS virtual PC (with guests) just fine...
I mean, my sister had the same computer as the spare before she headed out to the military, i could probably scalp it of it's 512mb bringing my spare up to 1gb seeing as she can't really use it anymore (and she got some fancy laptop anyway). Problem is, she asked me not to touch her old computer "Politely"*.

Re: VirtualBox OSE won't even start
512 MB RAM might work, but it's not recommended. This is because the Host uses most of that RAM so there will be little to no RAM left for Guests.
As for the issues, you might want to contact OpenSuSE on this, as VB only provides the source code. Your distro compiles that and puts it in their repo. If that fails to launch properly, report a bug in their bug system.
Something else you can do is remove the OSE version and get the PUEL version from the website here.
