What about this feature?

Post by daidong »

there is a new idea about virtualization using virtual box.

Could the virtualbox have a new feature that it can map a existed guest system in a 'vdi' file to a real hard-disk or just a logic partition of a hard-disk? Or we can build a vdi file just from a hard-disk, then we can dispatch the virtual machine everywhere.

Does this idea practical ? any discussion?

Feature requests should go into the Suggestions forum. Please open a new topic there, and explain how you want to see it working. As you have it now, it sounds more like RAW Disk Access that is already available in the PUEL version, with a few additional steps to get the raw data in a VDI.

Locking it due to wrong place, and not enough info for the idea.
