Installing network-option afterwards

Hi,

I have installed Version 2.2.2 (Host-System Vista 64) and already created and installed several virtual machines. Now I came to the point to run a web-server on a VM and figured out, I should have better installed the networking-option so I can use bridging.

Is there a way to only install the networking-option on the host, so the virtual network-device is installed on the host ? Running the setup again brings only the option to remove or repair, but not to install missing components.

When I remove, will I loos then all my VMs ?

Maybe there is an option for re-installation with adding not installed parts ?

Thanks for any hint.

Best regards

Joerg

When you installed VirtualBox the first time, what did you do to not install the network drivers?
Do any of the guests have access to the internet?

Honestly I can't remember exactly

But at one point the installation-programm asks if you want to install the virtual-network drivers, whn installing your network-connection will be disconnected for a short time, etc..

At that point I clicked on "no", so I skipped this part.

I already tried the "repair-option", but this re-installs only the USB-driver on the host.

Then you need to reinstall and let the drivers get installed this time.

You'll probably need to remove and reinstall - and no harm in that either.
I think it won't nuke your VM files, so you can restart the machines afterwards.

I think
