USB reconnect issue

Hi,

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 as a host and XP SP3 as a client. I've added the specific USB devices to be shared with the vbox client and all appears to work fine except when the USB device resets(due to power or whatever). After that the USB device does not automatically reconnect to the vbox client. The host Ubuntu OS sees the USB device after the reset and I can click on the USB devices icon in vbox and select it, after which I can communicate with the USB device.
Is this a known bug and does anyone know if there is a work-around?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A Blank Filter will allow almost everything to work but once you boot the guest you must unplug the device and plug it back in to allow the guest to get focus. The (+) or fixed filter makes it available to the guest as soon as it boots but has problems.

Great, thanks much - I'll give the Blank Filter a try.

Well, that worked like a charm although creating a "Blank Filter' was a little too obvious for me to figure out off the bat :?: . I had to delete all the other filters and create an actual blank USB filter - with every field empty - even the name. Is that how it's supposed to work?
Thanks again...
Regards,
Gary

It's not really how USB should work, but for a blank filter, yes. A specific filter should do what it says it should do, grab the device when found or plugged in during runtime.
