All

Attempting to get USB to work properly, device seen in VB, however guest OS shows no sign of drive at all. Any assistance.

Host: Ubuntu 8.04LTS (32bit), Win7RC1, VB 2.2.2 (PUEL)

no USB support or shared drives working, cannot transfer data (CD Images) between guest and host...

Any assistance appreciated.

Install the guest additions

Use a blank filter (.) in the USB setting section of VBox and then boot the guest.
Unplug the USB device and plug it back in to get focus and it should appear in the guest.

Thanks for this, it does now seem to work, but not following any particular pattern or using your instruction. I will monitor and pass back any comments.

Checked the FAQ yet? See link in my signature. That tells you how to get USB working on 8.04.
