Hello to everybody,

I cannot use my usb sticks intenso and smi in vb. SMI is listed in the menu "usb devices", but doesn't work in vb and is not displayed in windows explorer inside the box.
The intenso stick is not listed at all in the usb devices. USB-controller and usb 2.0 controller are activated. I tried with smi filter (for smi stick) and "new filter" as default, but none worked.
I use win xp sp3 as host and guest and virtualbox v. 2.1.4 (puel), as v. 2.2.2 causes some trouble with my internet conncetion until now.
I tried to follow the usb instructions in handbook and other postings reporting stick connecting problems, but didn't succeed until now.
In the host the sticks work fine without any problems.

Any ideas for a workaround?

Sometimes there is a reboot of the host required. Did you already try?
Often it also helps to connect and disconnect the stick a few times, till VBox grabs it.
