Remote Desktop Error with Vista host and Server 2003 guest
Posted: 9. May 2009, 01:56
Hello,
I want to acces a Windows Server 2003 Virtual Machine (network is configured as NAT) via "Windows Remote Desktop Web Connection" with my vista host machine. On a friends XP-install he can just press connect with exactly the same Windows Server 2003 VM and it works
(so I assume the OS is already properly configured, it is also possible to log in with the remote desktop in Server 2003 itself
). But when I log in via my vista install to the virtual machine I get: "The client could not connect. You cannot connect to the console from a console session of the same computer"
.
I tried a lot of things with VRDP (on 3389) and VBoxManage but I can't find a solution. Does anyone know how you can fix this???????????????? I really need it for an assignment for school...
What I tried with VBoxManage.exe:
Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/pcnet/0/LUN#0/Config/apache/HostPort, Value: 8080
Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/pcnet/0/LUN#0/Config/apache/GuestPort, Value: 80
Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/pcnet/0/LUN#0/Config/apache/Protocol, Value: TCP
Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/pcnet/0/LUN#0/Config/FTP/HostPort, Value: 2121
Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/pcnet/0/LUN#0/Config/FTP/GuestPort, Value: 21

Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/pcnet/0/LUN#0/Config/Remote/HostPort, Value: 3389
Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/pcnet/0/LUN#0/Config/Remote/GuestPort, Value: 3389

The situation when i press connect in tsweb vista and in Server 2003 itself:
