Use GParted for resizing Windows disk

Is there any way to run GParted on VirtualBox so that I can resize my actual Windows partition? GParted runs smoothly, but when it scans for disks, none are displayed. What do I need to change to allow priveleges to my Windows HDD?

It's best not to do this through VB. It beats the purpose. Why not just get the liveCD from gparted itself, and boot that on your PC?

Because when I reboot my PC, it doesn't load the CD for whatever reason. I changed my BIOS settings to load my CD drives first, and my hard drive last. My CD drive makes some noise like it's running, but I think something happens and it just skips and runs Windows.

Do you know how to do it in VirtualBox?

edit: All that's on the disc is the GParted .iso, and it runs cleanly on VB.

gparted might have a problem how your disks are accessed via the bios, some sata implementations go past gparted detection, set ide emulation if present.
