Hi,
Thinkpad T41 XP Pro SP3 is the os. Loaded Virtual box to run Ubuntu 9.0.4. Everything was fine until loaded Guest tools.
On reboot, the trackpad and the point stick stopped working, the cursor was "stuck" in the lower left hand corner and a desktop properties box kept popping up as ifsomebody was right clicking on the desktop. Before it would finish booting, it would blue screen and halt. This would happen about 5 minutes in, after it got the Win XP GUI going.
To resolve, I turned off trackpad, pointstick and nearly everything else in bios, then the system stabilzed. I uninstalled the Guest tools, but I think I need them in order to have a better screen resolution. System is back to normal except that I don't have the tools installed.
Any ideas?

Re: Blue Screen XP Pro after Guest Additions install
You can get the resolution to a better resolution by editing your xorg.conf. Only thing is without the guest additions you will not have USB or shared folder support.
You can Google the xorg resolution settings. If you can not find it let me know and I will see help.
