bug: "vboxnetflt: Unknown symbol SUPDrvLinuxIDC" [SOLVED]

EDIT:
The fix is to run close Vbox and run

Code: Select all

 sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
Hi,

Using Ubuntu Jaunty, I installed Ubuntu's Vbox 2.1, then installed Vbox 2.2 from the virtualbox.org repository:
deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian jaunty non-free

Now I get this problem:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/314650
[11120.298375] vboxnetflt: disagrees about version of symbol SUPDrvLinuxIDC
[11120.298382] vboxnetflt: Unknown symbol SUPDrvLinuxIDC
On top of that, the display colours are partially broken and the window is transparent with compiz on. None of these problems existed with Ubutnu's Vbox 2.1.

How do I fix this?

Thanks,
Yonas

Tying yourself to a solved issue might keep you from getting help. You should start a new thread but this time give all of your information such as hardware stats, all settings in guest, the exact issue that you are experiencing.
