Binary version all i386

Post by mailme_gx »

Hi all

I have recently updated my operating system (SLAX 6.0.9 to 6.2.0) Although the kernel version is the same (2.6.27.8) it was changed from i386 architecture to i586 hence virtual box no longer works, on the download page all distributions are i386, does this mean that I do not have access to virtualbox (PUEL) on this distro? or is there a way around this, I do not mind using the OSE version but I dont want to have to compile it myself and I also see the sata and usb support as quite fundamental.

Your advice is appreciated

It means that you need to update your kernel-headers. I386/I586 are virtually the same. Install the I386 after you have prepped your host.
