Anyone having windows 7 rc install problems

I gave windows 7 1500MB of ram to install and I'm getting the memory too low error again when it gets to starting windows in the install(first time it froze at this point(. I've got 4 GB ram for my vista system so I'm unsure what the problem is. Just thought I'd post feedback .

Also I haven't crashed VB yet but apparently I've lost keyboard settings as said in another post.

Nope! No problems at all. I left default (Mem at 512), changed the video memory to 128meg, turned on PAE, and IO-APIC. Installed easy. GA went smooth too.

O.k I'll just try lowering it. If I find the bug report they closed I might want to add this just in case I see this again.

Keep in mind that Windows 7 is still not a release. It is a release candidate. There will be problems.
And no one is going to base their entire dev. team on a program until they know that it is not going to change.

I'm just saying that I put that kind of memory in and got a vbox error with that size of memory. It wasn't a Windows 7 error as far as I know(yet) .

I do say though as a windows 7 problem is that it feels more chunky in movement with Vbox(going to install guest additions tomorrow and see if that gets rid of chunkiness). That I can wait and see for.

Also remember that windows is not Linux. It expects to see a certain amount of RAM 1024, 1280, 1408 1536 - multiples of 8

I got the 256 colour problem with 2.2.2 and Win7RC - and everything seemed very slow. I uninstalled 2.2.2 and went back to 2.1.4 - installed without problems. I'm giving up on 2.2.2 until it's proved to be less bug-free and more reliable.

What kind of goofy statement is that? Pull your head out.

Its a fact of windows life, ie. running with 400mb can lead to more crashes then 512mb, its not a base of 8mb increases but liniar increases of 64mb, ea. 128, 256, 384, 512, 768, 1024, ....... any other odd values like 300/400 can and will cause a crash eventually.

Might want to read up on RAM. This will explain the reason for you. http://www.howstuffworks.com/ram.htm What ever you do just remember that if you can't go to the computer store and buy it you probably should not use the values. Weird things will happen. There is a reason why if you care to learn.
