Generate New Virtual Hardware on Import?

Greetings all.

Introduction:
I've been tasked to get a piece of windows software working on a Mac OS X, and VirtualBox was the method of choice over an alternate windows boot partition. This program requires a license file which is requested via web and hardware dependant. But everything worked out. At least on my Account.

The Problem:
When I switched Users to the one I was installing it for, I noticed that there was no virtual machine. And whether I imported the virtual disk or made an export from my account which I imported under the other account, the program noticed a change and reqeusted a new license file.

E.G:
My account -> works
Import virtual machine to different account -> doesn't work
mount the virtual drive on a new virtual machine on a different account-> doesn't work.

I guess it's the new virtual hardware, fo everything else seems to be imported just fine.

The Question:
Am I doing something wrong on Import? Is there a way to copy an identical machine, or make virtualbox take an account independant set of settings?

Thank you very much in advance,
Frosty

Its in the FAQ's, the required files are located inside the users profile, either copy them to the user in question or use an environment variable (see the Manual).

Hey, Thank you very much.

It still took some fiddeling, and I failed at introducing a environment variable, but the program now accesses a non user specific configuration folder and everything works.

Cheers!
