Re: usb not being reconized by virtual box
What filters have you setup to use in VBox for the guest?
A Blank Filter will allow almost everything to work but once you boot the guest you must unplug the device and plug it back in to allow the guest to get focus. The (+) or fixed filter makes it available to the guest as soon as it boots but has problems.

Re: usb not being reconized by virtual box
Well its recognized the filter for my usb hd in setup but when I turn on VB it doesn't recognize it is connected when XP is turned on. I unplugged and replugged it in and it still didn't. Then i tired a blank filter as suggested and the same thing happened. What else can be done to help and is there a guide for dealing with the usb?Perryg wrote:What filters have you setup to use in VBox for the guest?

Re: usb not being reconized by virtual box
Make sure you unmount the device from the Host, then try to hook it to the VM. Does lsusb show the device in the Host? What does the vboxmanage command say to enumerate usb devices (please check the manual or help output, I don't know the exact command)?

Re: usb not being reconized by virtual box
How exactly do you remove the usb device from the Mac OS X host mach to allow VB to use it?

Re: usb not being reconized by virtual box
Please open a topic in the Mac OS Hosts forum for that. You're asking in the wrong place, Mac OSX is not Linux.diodeman wrote:How exactly do you remove the usb device from the Mac OS X host mach to allow VB to use it?
