Hardware problems after installing virtual box on ubuntu

Post by shunt »

hi everybody.

Firstly i would like to apologize for my bad english.

I`ve recently installed virtual box on my ubuntu hardy, after installing it i've been working with the host and the guest systems without noticing anything strange, but when i restarted my PC, some of the hardware didn't work on the host system neither on the guest one. When doing "lspci" i can see that all the hardware is actually recognized but the mouse, sound card, wireless, usb ... don't work any more.

Iwould like to know if someone has already had similar problems and how can i fix it
thanks

I have not seen anything that resembles this exactly. I suggest that you do a cold boot of the system and try again. If it fails I would try to reinstall VirtualBox and see if one of the services failed to install correctly to begin with. One other thing, make sure that you are still in the vboxusers group.
