Virtualbox 2.2/Ubuntu 9.04 Host/XP3 dameware utilities

Post by topraman »

I am running Ubuntu 9.04(dual quad core 16GB memory HPXW6600) with Virtualbox 2.2 and a XP3 guest. I run fine until I start to connect to a machine via Dame ware Utility in windows VB. I can still see the end-user doing things on their machine, however I cannot do a thing as VB greys out and I end up having to force quit.
Things I have done to try and fix are: Change the ethernet adapter to intel 1000
Change Virtual Memory
Change Hard Drive from IDE to SATA

I notice when this does happen the hardrive and network Icons peg on red for activity. I know this is killing a resource but dont know where to adjust. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated

Forgot to mention that. I am currently in bridged mode and tried NAT as well.

Give teamviewer a try, if that works at least you know its a dameware module or specific setting, the VBox video GA driver hooks don't work the same as a realtime video driver, maybe there are vga compatibility mode settings you can try.
