What is the last Virtualbox with working USB functionality? I've scoured the boards and haven't found a solution...I'm not asking for a fix (in this thread) but asking folks if any earlier versions were working.
I have tried 2.2.0 and 2.2.2 and neither works (I've been successful in numerous Ubuntu versions):
Windows XP SP3 Host
Windows XP SP3 Guest (also tried Vista guest).
1 I connect a device
2 It appears on the menu
3 I select it
4 I get the disconnect sound and reconnect sound (from host I assume)
5 Nothing happens
I get no checkmark on device, no device in guest. If I select the same device again, it says "working on previous request...etc". The host tries (in vain) to (re) load vboxusb.sys.
