Windows 7 RC and Guest Additions under VBox 2.2.2 - Network

I too have been having problems ever since installing the Guest Additions on 7 RC (like some other posts). I recently downloaded the 7 RC (Build 7100) and update my VBox to 2.2.2. After doing so and installing Guest Additions, I lost my network card in the Guest RC 7. This all occurred after upgrading my VBox to 2.2.2 and installing the 7 RC guest, I never experieced any issues with the 7 Beta or previous VBox version. Maybe I am overlooking something simple here, but any advice would be much appreciated.

Host Specs:
Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
8GB RAM
2 512GB 8700GT Video Cards (Non SLI)
Plenty of HDD space

Guest Specs:
Windows 7 RC Build 7100
Base Mem: 1024MB
Video Mem: 12MB
20GB HD
Network Adapter: Interl PRO/1000 MT Desktop (NAT)

Try reinstalling VBox as Administrator(right click the install file left click on run as admin) then select repair. Reboot the host.
See if this helps.

Yikes, I just put guest additions in my Windows 7 RC (64-bit) install and that VBox session locks up during boot now. Fresh clean install of the Windows 7 RC. Installing guest additions was the first thing I did. Kills VBox completely. I have to reboot my entire machine to even try again. Host is 64-bit Vista.

I actually got a bsod in my guest Windows 7 when trying to run the 64-bit version. I was none too thrilled about that. I have a feeling this all stems from VBox's latest upgrade (2.2.2), since I never had any issues prior to that.

Did you upgrade you existing Windows 7 or did you install a new VM for the RC?
Win7 Beta was supposed to be removed and Win7 RC installed. MS does not recommend trying to update the Beta.
I installed Win7 RC (New VM) and it went smooth.

@mgrudem: I lost my network card in the Guest RC 7

The same happened to me when trying to installe WindowsGuestAdditions 2.2.2 for Windows 7 RC.
(Host WinXP SP3 32 Bit, Guest Win7RC 32 Bit)

Then I changed from NAT to Bridged Mode and updated the network installation under Win7RC.
(No reinstallation and repair of VirtualBox 2.2.2 necessary !)
This works fine and has the advantage, that your Win7RC VM is now also seen from other computers in your home network.

The only problem I have with VB 2.2.2 is now: it does not allow more than 1.5 GB of main memory to be allocated
- at least during installation of Win7RC.

I'm not sure what was going on as it's fine now. Just wanted to give me trouble for awhile I guess. Very strange.
