Hi,
I am new to VirtualBox and hoping someone can help with this error.
Here are the particulars:
Host: Ubuntu 9.04
VirtualBox:2.2.0 PUEL
Guest OS:Windows XP
I installed VirtualBox and created a VM.
Shortly after it starts to read the CD to install a Windows XP image I get the following error:
Error restoring WinPE image, rc=3418.
I had the exact same error when I was trying to install this same image under Ubuntu 8.10.
Also, I used these CD's before to build a WIN XP standalone system and it worked fine.
Thanks
WinPE Error

Re: WinPE Error
Is the cd a full install or a "restore" cd from a manufacturer?
Some say: "You learn as long as you live".
My way: "You live as long as you learn".

Re: WinPE Error
Hi,
The CD is a production image from my work. So full install with specific applications (Lotus Notes, FW, etc) for my work environment.

Re: WinPE Error
Did you create a VM harddisk?

Re: WinPE Error
Try making an ISO from the CD and use that.
