Trouble with Windows versions that should be on floppies

Post by Poofonch »

My computer doesn't have a floppy drive, therefore I have to do things differently.

I am trying to install Windows Chicago on my VM, and it says I need a DOS installed. I have many DOS versions ready on my computer, but in files that make floppies, ultimately screwing me up.

Help?

Get VFD which creates a floppydrive where you can create whatever you need and then save it as an .img file which VBox can use.

Didn't we just go down this road with you trying to install windows 98?

Windows 95 code name is Chicago. Same thing applies.

Bottom line was this:
1.5. Supported guest operating systems
<snip>
DOS / Windows 3.x / 95 / 98 / ME
Limited testing has been performed. Use beyond legacy installation mechanisms not recommended. No Guest Additions available
<snip>

Thanks. I'll use it.

Also, I know that. Just that I used a disk to install 98.

EDIT: Having trouble. I can't get the floppies to be made! It says that there is no disk in the drive. Help!
