So I am running Ubuntu Jaunty with a grsec patched kernel that I got from kernel.org. I am trying to install VB and it says:
Please install the build and header files for your current Linux kernel.
When I did the build I made .deb packages reinstalled Ubuntu and then installed the new kernel and the headers from the .debs. Does this error mean that I was supposed to keep the source also? Is there anyway for me to extract the source from the .deb packages that I have?

yes, and dont make clean after building the kernelDoes this error mean that I was supposed to keep the source also?
Re: Virtualbox with patched kernel
Ok, so if I do this again this time keep the directory that I am doing the dpkg command in the /usr/src directory and that should work?

Re: Virtualbox with patched kernel
it did work for my debian etch, lenny boxes ... just leaving the source as it was in /usr/src/linux-source-<version number>
