usb problem

for some reason when i try to make some of my usb devices (thumb drives 2G formatted to fat32 or usb gamepad, etc) to work in a guest os, the dont mount i ether get a message saying there busy or with my thumb drives the show up as floopy devices. im runing the latest version of vbox i installed the guest software and i tried this with multiple computers with the same result (vista home and xp pro)
note: my usb harddrives mount but just not those other drives

The Version is PUEL / OSE ...
You are using USB Filters ...
The exact Guest Settings (USB, Filters) are ...
Where are the Details? Sorry, but such things are important. We know, that it doesnt work. But we dont know the environment.

well the host are as i said xp and vista, i dont thank i have any usb filters. how would i check on that? the guest are both linux(multiple distros) and windows xp i tried putting a filter on in the guest useing virtual box but still dident work and i do not have a open source version of vbox.

Please post the Guest Settings. Check the Settings for the Guest in VBOX. Is USB enabled? USB2? Checked Filters?
If you dont know where to check this, then read the manual about this.
