If you want some fun, try mimic my setup
A HP NC6400,
Windows XP SP3
a cisco vpn client on the host, and an old vobx 2.2.0 on the host
Then install Checkpoint VPN-1-SecuRemote-SecureClient VERSION = NG-AI (R60 hfa02)
Now upgrade/install the new vbox 2.2.2 and watch it fail, (I managed to follow a note to uninstall the host-only nw driver, which made the install routine die)
Finally got the vbox 2.2.2 installed, or almost ! - because the machine did now "go down in blue flames" (BSOD).
I got a BSOD in "wf.sys" which seems to be related to the Chekpoint Vpn client.
Then decided to yank the Chekpoint off again. Couldnt do that - it hung!?
Then decided to yank get rid of vbox. Couldnt do that, it hung!?
Then tried various combinations of "try to install first, to be able to uninstall Chekpoint/vbox"
Couldnt do anything - all attempts hung when almost finished.
Cant uninstall/disable the (hidden) devices for Chekpoint, or vbox devices via devicemanager, or uninstall any of them via ctrlpanel/appwiz.cpl - attempts will hang if I try.
I'm stuck bigtime here.
Is there a manual way to get totally rid of vbox first, and then hopefully be able to remove checkpoint as well... ??
Here's hoping for an answer before I reformat the blasted laptop .... :/

Re: Cant uninstall vbox (checkpoint ngx vpn)
Hello,
I'm facing the same problem too. Is there any body who succesfully installed checkpoint R60 HFA2 on guest operating system?
My host OS is Vista 64 bit
My guest OS is XP 32 bit
My virtualbox version is : 2.2.2 r46594
Actually I tried to use both NAT and Bridged Networking to make it working but -for all cases- it's not worked.
Best regards,
alper

Same here. Dang... VB still runs, but now with no USB support. Hmmm.
Solution: Same as others. Downloaded 2.2.0. Ran and choose "Repair" option. That should complete without errors. Once that is completed, before reboot, run 2.2.2 installation. Everything worked fine.

Re: Cant uninstall vbox (checkpoint ngx vpn)
A quick followup - I managed to get rid of all checkpoint stuff on my *host*.
And even get it installed and working on a guest WinXP. But bridge is a nogo on my PC - dont know why and dont care much since checkpoint vpn accepted to work via NAT setup in vbox.
The way to remove both vBox and checkpoint was to do the same as a poster here - repair the SUN vBox 2.2.0 and install the 2.2.2 without reboot first.
The checkpoint devices was only removed by scraping through registry to remove all device entries that related to SecuRemote (remember backup of registry and even a new hw-profile first)
But to make it clear, i am not sure if this BSOD was caused by Sun or Chekcpoint, because I actually had another BSOD when I tested Checkpoint on the vBox :
I starteda vbox XP, and it got an IP with DHCP, but on my company LAN (vpn dosent work here) Then I had to disconnect the host, and switch to an ADSL line to get a new IP assigned.
Also, the vbox XP needed a new IP, so I started a cmd in the vbox XP guest and released/renewed the IP on the guest..... BAM!! another BSOD on the Host . How annoying is that !
But when rebooted the vbox checkpoint worked fine...
But ... "me not impressed"
