Hello!

Did anybody try to install VBox on a virtual machine instead of a physical machine?
We are using the following configuration :
- Sun Fire X4150 32Gb memory
- Processors: 2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) E5450 @ 3.00GHz CPU

This is the test configuration:
OS: SunOS 5.10 Generic_137138-09
|
|
|----------VBox 2.2.0r45846
|-----------OS: Sol10 U6 X86
|-----------VBox 2.2.0r45846
|
| ------------- OS: OpenSolaris 8.11

Problem: running the installation in the second level VBox is not possible. After mounting the DVD ISO image and start the virtual machine it hangs up unfortunately. Trying install another OS causes the same symptoms ( Windows XP, Debian Live ).
Any advice is welcome!
Thanks!

Gabor

What is the point doing this? Why you just can't install OpenSolaris in your already working VBox?

Like this:

OS: SunOS 5.10 Generic_137138-09
|
|
|----------VBox 2.2.0r45846
|-----------OS: Sol10 U6 X86
|-----------OS: OpenSolaris 8.11

Install VB in a VM, fine. Run a VB VM inside a VB VM, not ok. You can't virtualize something inside a virtualized enviroment. Some devs have it working, but it's not pretty. VB doesn't support this, and never has.

Oh, and one other thing, it's been asked before! If you bothered to search, as stated in the Forum Posting Guide, you would have found it already.

Anyway, not possible, so I'm locking this one.
