Time Sync problems with 2.2.2

Hi

I have just upgraded my VB to 2.2.2 on a debian amd64 machine, I have a XP VM machine which I just upgraded to the 2.2.2 client additions.

I have been seeing strange behaviour from Microsoft communicator and symantec endpoint protection.

M$ communicator refused to connect because it said my time was out of sync, I checked it against the domain time and it was okay, so I reset it any way and then I was able to connect, but after a while it disconnected again time problem.

With the antivirus application it keeps trying to start the weekly scan, I tell it to snooze for an hour and it stop and then restarts a few seconds later.

My guess is there is some issue with syncing the time in the guest vm...

I have had this image for quite a long time - its my main windows machine

Any one seen this or got any ideas

Two things you need to check. One is the time zone, that must be set to the same as your Host. Second is NTP, aka internet time sync. Is that on? You should disable that when you use the GA, as that already syncs with the Host.

Same time zone, and I have ntp on the host not the guest.

The interesting thing is that I haven't changed the environment except to upgrade to 2.2.2 from 2.1
