I recently upgraded my Linux OS to Ubuntu 9.0.4 Desktop and upgraded VirtualBox to 2.2.2. I have not updated the guest addition, still using 2.0.8 for the WindowsXP guest.
If I leave the WinXP virtual machine for a period of time without any activity, the screen saver is set to be automatically turned on. So, when I move the mouse, I see the activity for the pointer. However, when I try to use the keyboard to type something, it does not seem to be capture and reflected on the guest.
So, if I were using the full screen mode, it is risking losing data because I have no choice but restart the physical box or SSH in to kill the virtualbox session.
Wondering if anyone else have seen this issue.

Update the guest additions on the XP and turn off screen saver. Use the host screen saver instead.

I updated with the latest guest addition v2.2.2 r45694. It seems to be resolved.
