Hi everyone,
I'm trying to setup a ubuntu server as guest on a vista host, with NAT i've connection to internet. but i need to connect as bridged to be able to access the guest os from the host and from the internet. I've tried with dhcp and with static ip, and still no connection. Btw, i'm using wireless to connect to the router.

So bridged to wireless and let the VM get an IP from your router doesn't work? Check the router logs, it might block it's MAC address if you have MAC filtering on.

Well i've reinstalled everything, and it's working now.. router sent the dhcp offer and i've got an ip on the guest

Well, talked too early :p
The guest managed to connect to the router but it doens't have internet connection, only local... in the Host-only network that it's created in the host OS (Vista) it says "Limited or no connectivity".

Do you get a DNS and Gateway in the Guest? What if you set a static IP?

Well, i've now configured to static ip, still no connection to internet.. i can reach the guest from the host, i've apache running and its all working fine locally..
Heres what i've done so far:
Installed VB - Configured bridged connection to the laptop wireless - installed ubuntu, apache, php etc.. - got connection working with DHCP and STATIC
Still no internet connection.. am i missing something ?
