Hi folks!
That is my first post!!
I installed VirtualBox 2.2.2 on Fedora 10 x86_64 and I got this error when I try to start VB:
VirtualBox: supR3HardenedMainGetTrustedMain: dlopen("/usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox.so",) failed: /usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox.so: undefined symbol: _ZN11QTreeWidget17setSelectionModelEP19QItemSelectionModel
Someone knows about that??
Thanx

The fedora 9 version is failing with the same error. I went and downloaded the all distribution version for amd64 and that one installed fine and runs. Looks like the fedora9 rpm and fedora10 rpm for 2.2.2 is flaked.

Did you add yourself to the vboxusers group?

First, thanks for your help.
Yes, I am in the vboxusers group. I think, this error is because my Fedora 10 is outdated, but I don't know what I need upgrade.
Another time, I got an alike error with Fedora 9 using VirtualBox 2.0.1, then I updated GTK and worked fine.
But at this time, I don't make any idea about what is happening here.
Thanks a lot,
Jorginho.

The problem went away after "yum update".

I ran "yum update" and now VirtualBox 2.2.2 works fine!
But, I want to know which specifically was needed to update.
After Fedora's update the system works better, as always.
Thanks!!

Re: VirtualBox 2.2.2 on Fedora 10 error starting
I think it's QT that needs to get updated. I run TexMaker on my system... and it has a bug with the newer QT libraries... so I kept the older versions around. After updating, the error goes away, but if I downgrade back to the older versions of QT, the error comes back.
Just a FYI.
Just a FYI.

Well, it's solved I see. The issue was asked a few months ago too, same response for possible fixes. If you searched before posting, you should have found other topics with the same issue.
Anyway, it's locked due to solved.
