Problem: virtual hard disk unit on full encrypted LVM system

Post by spokz »

Hi.
I have a problem with creating virtual hard disk.
Host system is stored on full encrypted LVM.
After few tests I realised that I can create (fixed- or dynamic-size) virtual disk but not larger than 4 GiB.
When everything works fine, a kcryptd process is spawned and works together with VirtualBox in creating virtual disk.
But when I try to create disk larger than 4 GiB, the kcryptd process works only for a while, then VBoxSVC process is spawned and use 100% CPU time but it does nothing. Progress of creating hard disk storage unit is 0% after 1 hour now.
It's my third time I try to make it. Last time I killed VBoxSVC process after about 30 minutes, but then it became Zombie.
I'm confused if it's normal behaviour of VirtualBox - it does not support encrypted LVM systems or can it be done in some other way?
Please help.
