I am running VirtualBox 2.2.0 under Vista Ultimate. I am running Solaris 10 x86 as a guest OS. I have a Canon MX7600 multi-function printer installed on my network. Canon has printer drivers (and other associated software) for Windows that allows it print to the MX7600 over the network. Canon does not have the same software available for Solaris. Is there a way I can print to this printer from the Solaris guest? If I share the printer in my Vista host can I make it available to the Solaris guest?
Thanks,
Kevin Montagne

Re: Printing from a Solaris Guest OS
The printer you have is called a Windows only printer. Basically it will only work in Windows. Now there may be a way to use a standard printer driver that emulates the print function only. The only way that I have ever gotten this to work is trial and error. See if any of the Solaris Canon drivers will work.
Re: Printing from a Solaris Guest OS
Install tcpip(unix) printing on the Host, you can then lpr to it from solaris if you can generate hpgl on the Guest for it.
