VB newbie with basic video question

switching from VM trying to use VB and so far really pleased. I have a windows 7 VM running and changing video was a basic windows right click and brought it to 1680x1050 which looked great. I downloaded a pre-made nexenta solaris VM and it started fine, but can't get better than 1024. So before I start on that machine, thought I would just post a quick q, grab some lunch and check back.
Do I need to download the nvidia drivers, compile against same way I did the host OS, or do I use some VirtualBox video drivers to get the res higher.
Looking to read more in the forums, etc. so thanks for all reads/replies.

Grab and read the manual instead, topic Guest Additions.

Well, thanks for that reply! So I did visit the manual, have the iso downloaded / mounted, looking at the next command;
sudo pkgadd -d ./VBoxSolarisAdditions.pkg and getting the following;
and getting the following (note I am retyping as you can't copy/paste out of the VM)
: not found
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: vboxguest
then an;
** Unknown version of the X Window System installed
then a few more, but above in the supported section doesn't show nexenta which is what I downloaded and testing. Is this a distro problem or something else?
Thanks

I am doing this from memory because my Solaris crashed and I have not had time to fix it, but the idea is the same.
When you open the guest the first time it will be in lower graphics mode due to the fact that the guest additions have not been loaded.
You should be able to click the device tab at the top left and then click install guest additions.
This will bring up a mount to the ISO as a CD on your desktop. (if it does not then click device, unmount cd and then install guest additions again)
Open the cd and find the Solaris guest pkg.
now just open a terminal and su in so you have root permission and drag the .pkg file and drop it on the terminal window. Left arrow to the first of the line and type sh if it barks at you about being in bash.
Watch for any errors that you get to tell you what is missing and keeping the guest additions from installing.
If no errors show up then you can reboot the guest and it should work.
