Installing Intel Desktop Adapter drivers

Hello, everyone.

I have recently started to use VirtualBox in a Windows host, and I have a Windows XP machine that I have enabled the Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop adapter, bridged to my real physical adapter.

How can I install drivers for this NIC? Must i actually download the driver from intel.com ? Will it be 100% compatable?

It would make a lot more sense for Sun to just include the drivers on their Additions ISO file.. After all they can emulate the E1000 chipset and can't provide drivers for it?

Thanks in advance,

Try selecting the Intel PRO/1000 T Server adapter instead and see if this will work for you.

The Intel 1000MT drivers need to be downloaded, as Windows doesn't ship them and they can't be added in the GA for license reasons. You have to accept that from Intel yourself when downloading. The Intel 1000T Server is shipped with XP, so that should work.
